Log building - a conscious choice
Sustainable materials – renewable resources
Our logs are nature’s own building blocks. Before being harvested, each tree has absorbed CO₂ for decades. That carbon is locked into the timber and remains stored until the wood naturally decomposes.
More eco-friendly than passive houses
Recent independent studies show that our method achieves up to 22% lower total greenhouse gas emissions than the most advanced passive houses — and this without considering the carbon storage and superior longevity inherent to our craft.

Total emissions from a log building is nearly 22% lower compared to modern passive houses.
1. Total emissions from a log building is nearly 22% lower compared to advanced passive houses.
2. When it comes to material use, handcrafted log construction outperforms even the most advanced passive houses, while overall emissions during the usage phase remain comparable.
3. The natural CO₂ absorption that takes place during the growth of the trees has not been included in this calculation. If it were, the advantage of log construction would be significantly greater.
4. The extraordinary longevity of a log home—often far beyond 60 years—has likewise not been factored in, yet this endurance further enhances its sustainability profile.

In addition to being eco-friendly, most of our cabins have their own small energy system that uses geothermal wells and hydronic heating.
Energy-efficient heating solutions
Each cabin is designed for near self-sufficiency in energy. By drilling 200–300 meters down to access groundwater, a heat pump harvests natural energy that is distributed through a hydronic underfloor heating system. The result: abundant hot water and consistent warmth throughout the home, all year round.
Smart-home technology ensure comfort and reduces energy consumption
Intelligent smart-home technology enhances both convenience and energy efficiency. With full control via a mobile app, you can manage lighting, heating, and energy consumption—whether at the cabin or abroad. Automated zoning, day/night adjustments, and presence control ensure both comfort and significant reductions in energy use.

Crafted in harmony with nature, our log construction is a truly breathable design. The natural insulation allows for a gentle airflow, creating a self-regulating indoor climate. The result is a healthy and comfortable indoor environment.
Natural indoor climate
A handcrafted log cabin, built almost entirely from natural materials, offers more than timeless beauty - it provides a healthier way of living. The log construction is a naturally “breathing” structure, where the organic insulation between logs and corners creates a self-regulating airflow. The result is a fresh, comfortable indoor climate without the need for mechanical ventilation systems.
In addition, the solid timber walls store and gently release heat, ensuring even temperatures and lasting warmth long into the night.
