The development begins already at the sketch stage. It is important to consider interior design and aesthetic expression early in the process to ensure a cohesive environment and an optimal final result. Through VR glasses, we offer a realistic 3D experience of the log cabin and its surroundings, making it easier for you to map out your needs.

Our hundreds of cabins are all built using timber from the same region because we know this timber meets the quality we require. We use slow-grown, resin-rich pine, and experienced professionals select only the best for our cabins.

With us, the processing and drying of well-matured timber still follow traditional methods—expertise built up over generations. It is with this knowledge that we lay the foundation for Laftekompaniet’s own quality standard for log timber.

In our modern log halls, hand-hewing still follows the classic log-cabin technique. Each log is worked individually to fit together, with corner joints carefully carved. It is precisely this technique that ensures quality that lasts for generations.

Advanced engineering requires careful planning and close follow-up. Laftekompaniet manages all involved subcontractors and ensures a predictable construction process. We have built a network of approved suppliers who deliver according to Laftekompaniet’s quality standards.

Laftekompaniet builds in most mountain destinations across Norway and has extensive knowledge of them. Our philosophy is to make the most of local subcontractors whenever possible, both due to proximity and local expertise. All subcontractors are pre-approved by us.

One of the great advantages of designing your own log cabin with an architect is that you can think about the interior in a completely different way. You can integrate not only kitchens, bathrooms, and beds but also old stairs, doors, or sentimental items. This way, the interior is customized according to your wishes.
